Valentine’s Day Party Snacks

Valentine’s Day themed Reading Activities

Level up your ELA Block with some Valentine’s Day themed reading activities! Valentine’s Day reading passages, picture books, or short stories make great read alouds. They are a super easy and effective way to add some Valentine’s themed fun while still working on important reading skills.

I love these reading passages because they are only one page long. This makes them great for a quick read aloud, station activity, or small group lesson. You can grab several of these one page reading passages in my Valentine’s Day skill review packages here.

There are a ton of great short stories that work great for Valentine’s Day lessons as well. For older students, is a great time to pull out some classic stories and talk about the theme of love. These classic tales of friendship, love, and kindness help to remind us of what really matters during this special holiday.

My grade 4-5 skill review pack comes with activities for practicing single and double digit multiplication, single and double digit division, and equivalent fractions. My grade 2-3 skill review pack comes with activities for practicing counting forwards and backwards by 2, 5, and 10, place value, single and double digit addition and subtraction, comparing numbers, and place value. These worksheets make great Valentine math stations. They also make differentiation super easy! Simply choose the pages that work best for your learners!

Integrated Art Activities for Valentine’s Day

Color by code art activities are a fun way to tie in the theme of Valentine’s Day to your existing curriculum. The added incentive of coloring the mystery images really helps to up the engagement. To complete the fun comprehension activity pictured below, students must read through a Valentine’s Day reading passage, answer the comprehension questions, and use their answers to help them complete the Valentine picture.

You can grab a whole pile of different color by code activities in my Valentine Skill Review Packs for grades 2-3 and grades 4-5.
