Welcome to Creative Classroom Core!

By MARISSA DESPINS Updated April 10, 2024

Hello, and welcome to Creative Classroom Core! I am so glad you are here!

The first post on the new blog calls for an introduction. My name is Marissa. I have been teaching for close to 20 years now (although that feels pretty much impossible). I am always up for a challenge and a new experience, so I have spent time teaching high school, middle school, elementary school, and even worked as a literacy specialist in curriculum for a few years. Currently, I am teaching a grade 2/3 group, focused on Place Based Education. This is the youngest group I have ever taught, and I am really enjoying my time with these little ones.

I have been a seller on Teachers Pay Teachers since pretty much the beginning. When my son was born in 2007, I decided to take a few years off to be home with him and my daughter. I absolutely loved being home with them, but my creative teacher side was definitely itching to be tapped into. Thankfully, I stumbled upon TPT accidentally one day, and have been happily creating products ever since.

I have been around this whole teacher blogger world for a while now, but finally decided to up my game a bit, leave Blogger behind, and start my first WordPress site. Some of you might remember me from there – if so, welcome back! If you are new to Creative Classroom Core, however, I hope you stick around and check things out, and that we have a chance to connect. I am so excited to be here, meet you, and learn from you.
